All Across Idaho School Levies And Bonds Fail To Gain Support — CDA Superintendent “In Shock” That $25 Million Dollar Levy Failed After Calling Parents “Disgusting” And “Un-American”
It’s time to “Re-Imagine” Public Education
UPDATE 3/16/23 4:26 PM: The Next CDA School District Meeting will be Monday March 20th.
All across Idaho, parents refused to allow their tax dollars to be used to indoctrinate, and put their children at risk in the Public School System.
5 out of 7 of the proposed school bonds failed throughout the state, depriving the government education system of almost half a billion dollars in funds.
The Bonds that failed are:
Nampa School District – $210.2 Million
Kuna School District – $111.5 Million
Jefferson County School District – $75 Million
Fremont School District – $59 Million
Castleford School District – $6 Million
3 out of 8 Plant Facility Levies failed including Coeur d’Alene ($25 Million), Weiser ($2 Million) , and Butte County ($206k).
CDA Forever Levy Defeated
The biggest WIN for concerned parents was the defeat of the “Forever Levy” that was put on the ballot by Coeur d’Alene School District who asked for a record $25 Million dollars a year, every year, forever.
During the run-up to the vote, Coeur d’Alene’s extremely Liberal Superintendent, Shon Hocker, together with Trustee Casey Morrisroe used the Coeur d’Alene Press to call concerned parents that were opposed to the Forever Levy "Disgusting” and “Un-American.”
Hocker, Morrisroe and their allies in the Press also used their platform to lie to Coeur d’Alene residents about how much the levy was going to cost them, claiming in numerous op-eds and press releases that the levy would only cost residents $140/year on average.
In reality, the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee was the only group in Coeur d’Alene who was not lying to the public, and actually looking out for the community’s best interests.
