BREAKING: Former President Donald J. Trump Indicted By Soros-Backed NY Prosecutor — DeSantis Said It’s The “Weaponization Of The Legal System”
Donald Trump has been indicted in New York on charges that stem from a payment of $130,000 made to Stormy Daniels in 2016, regarding an alleged sexual encounter between them in 2006. Despite these accusations, the former President has denied having had any involvement in the matter or committing any wrongdoing and at the time the allegations were first made, Federal Prosecutors declined to pursue the case.
This is the first time in American history that a former president has been indicted.
According to CNN's John Miller, an undisclosed source has provided them with information on the quantity of indictments, as the indictment itself remains under seal.
The indictment was filed by Alvin Bragg, who was backed by George Soros in his prior election, and has spent his time in office declining to prosecute violent felonies. Now, Bragg has indicted Trump in what can only be a blatantly political prosecution.
In a statement posted to Truth Social, Trump said:
“this is political persecution and election interference at the highest level in history. From the time I came down the golden escalator at Trump Tower, and even before I was sworn in as your President of the United States, the Radical Left Democrats — the enemy of the hard-working men and women of this country — have been engaged in a With-Hunt to destroy the Make America Great Again movement.”
Trump took a swipe at Bragg in his statement, saying:
“Rather than stopping the unprecedented crime wave taking over New York City, he’s doing Joe Biden’s dirty work, ignoring the murders and burglaries and assaults he should be focused on. This is how Bragg spends his time!”
Trump said that he believes the witch hunt will backfire massively on Joe Biden and that the American people realize what the “radical left Democrats are doing here.”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis released a statement as well in which he accused Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg of "stretching the law" to obtain the indictment, and has further claimed that his state will not assist with any extradition requests "given the questionable circumstances."
According to DeSantis, the Manhattan prosecutor has a history of downgrading felonies and excusing criminal misconduct, while now targeting a political opponent with a stretched application of the law.
The Governor's comments come after it was revealed that far-left billionaire George Soros pledged at least one million dollars to Bragg's campaign through his Color of Change PAC, which endorsed Bragg for his promise to create a justice system that does not favor the powerful and well-connected. Notably, DeSantis and former President Trump have been at odds recently amid speculation that the Florida Governor may challenge Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination.
DeSantis also said that his state would not assist in an extradition request if one is made for the former president.
News of Trump’s indictment by a New York grand jury broke on Thursday, despite previous reports that the grand jury hearing evidence was taking a month-long break.
“The weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda turns the rule of law on its head,” DeSantis tweeted. “It is un-American.”
This marks an unprecedented moment in American history. As our economy is tanking, global de-dollarization is taking hold, and America is being drawn into a direct nuclear conflict with Russia, America is truly standing at a crossroads…
