Coeur d’Alene Mayor, Jim Hammond, Ignores Citizens, Accepts $8.6M Biden COVID-19 Funds — Democrats Celebrate
“I'm not the bravest guy in the world,” -Jim Hammond
While residents took turns addressing the Coeur d’Alene City Council, Tuesday Afternoon, uniformly sharing opposition to the city’s proposed adoption of so-called “American Rescue Plan Act Funds” — Kootenai County Democrat’s Mayor of choice, Jim Hammond, pushes forward with accepting the $8.6 Million in Joe Biden stimulus, dragging along all of it’s conflicting implications.
Speaking to the CDA Press, Hammond explains “It's as though the level of trust for government is just gone.” adding “And that's one of the efforts I'm going to make is to try to bring that level of trust back.”
These comments come as the mayor of Coeur d’Alene, Jim Hammond, ignored citizens and silenced his constituents before dictatorially accepting Joe Biden’s “ARPA” funding against the will of the people, cementing in place the emergency COVID-19 federal stimulus.
Hammond, after having been told residents of Coeur d’Alene feel as though they are being ignored, explained to the CDA Press, “sometimes what's right isn't always popular. And sometimes what's popular isn't always right.” — in this case, Hammond is neither popular, nor is he right.
This isn’t the first time Hammond has expressed his views on COVID-19 related mandates. Back on the election trail, while speaking with the Kootenai Democrat Central Committee, Hammond famously proclaimed “if you have a spirit of community, we all would wear masks, we all would get vaccinated,” adding that this was partly why he was running for mayor of Coeur d’Alene.
While speaking with the Kootenai County Democrat Central Committee, Hammond also bloviated about the right to open carry in Coeur d’Alene, and how it just “wouldn’t be welcomed” after insinuations of weaponizing the business association against the second amendment.
Speaking to the CDA Press on rising housing costs in Coeur d’Alene, Hammond says “we have to figure out a new strategy to make homes affordable so that our workforce can afford to live here,”
This comes from the same Jim Hammond who’s mayoral campaign was strongly endorsed by the realtors association, an association which clearly understood they’d benefit from a Mayor Hammond.
Coeur d’Alene is a conservative city, and although the mayor may disagree, no number of ‘mail-in votes’ will change that fact.
