Democrats Endorse Hammond, Conservatives Endorse Alfieri — Which Party Will Lead Coeur d’Alene?

“if you have a spirit of community, we all would wear masks, we all would get vaccinated, if we have a problem we work together to solve it and that is what community is about and that is part of the reason i am running.” - Jim Hammond to Kootenai Democrats

With November 2nd right around the corner, many residents in Coeur d’Alene feel they have been misled by a ‘lying media’ who have become de facto propagandists for Kootenai County’s small but growing liberal minority. While the local media attempt to hang on to their fleeting conservative readership, they march in lock-step with the Kootenai Democrats, who have thrown their support behind Jim Hammond, who is running to be mayor of Coeur d’Alene.

In a video meeting with the “club” posted to the Kootenai Democrats website, Jim Hammond, who is an ‘establishment’ politician, explains that “part of taking care of each-other is creating that, what i always called it a spirit of community” Hammond continues saying “if you have a spirit of community, we all would wear masks, we all would get vaccinated, if we have a problem we work together to solve it and that is what community is about and that is part of the reason I am running”

In the video conference, one of the Kootenai Democrats joyfully exclaimed “that when I was told you were running I did cartwheels.”

Another Kootenai Democrat who had an opportunity to speak to Hammond explained that the idea of “personal freedom” being more important than “community” was “an assault on what we see as Democracy itself.” The individual explained that the biggest perpetrators of this so-called “assault” on Democracy were the local churches, as well as the Republican party. Hammond responded saying “yea you are right, that’s a genuine concern” continuing on to say that “when I served in the senate I served as a Republican, but the, um, Republicans that you hear right now from the central committee are not the Republicans that i’ve always felt i Represented, or the people i’ve represented.”

The Chairman of the Kootenai County Democratic Central Committee, Evan Koch, says “Thanks Mr Hammond, thanks for being with us, and I hope you don’t mind that we call you mayor because thats what we hope to see” to which Hammond gleefully laughed in response. “There are bigger issues that we have to face right now” Evan Koch said, adding “mask wearing, COVID-19, the open display of firearms…” Hammond, in agreement, responds by bringing up hate groups, which have not been present in our communities for decades.

A female Kootenai County Democrat then appears on the screen, saying “will you and the city council be willing to stand, or make laws, or ordinances of whatever, to get guns off of our streets, to quit the intimidation and stand up for the good people in our community?” She continues to ask “what can you do to be brave enough, I guess, to stop this?” Hammond begins to respond saying “there’s not a lot we can do until we change some state laws. The state legislature quite a while ago took away from cities and counties any ability to do any legislation relative to gun laws. going on to continue to say “the first thing you have to do is we have to change that at the state level.”

Hammond continues to speak on his issue with open carry of firearms in Coeur d'Alene, saying “you know we have a really strong downtown association, and i think we might be better served by working with them and make sure we create an atmosphere where it just wouldn’t be appropriate and it just wouldn’t be welcomed downtown, or anywhere in our community like that. I think thats more the rout we need to go. More of us need to stand up.”

We reached out to Coeur d’Alene mayoral candidate, Joe Alfieri, to comment on these shocking revelations that we assume most voters are unaware of. Here is what he had to say: “I am, quite frankly, shocked to learn about my opponents views and I just want to say in the strongest way possible, that I will never enforce mask mandates, vaccine requirements or any other legislation designed to pressure our residents to comply with such things.”

Joe Alfieri continues: “The idea that residents of Coeur d’Alene, if Hammond is elected, might not be able to carry a firearm downtown, is appalling. The law abiding citizens of Kootenai County do not deserve to be bullied over their God given right to keep and bear arms.”

“My opponent, who entertains the idea that churches and Republicans are assaulting our Democracy, as said by his Democrat friends, has no place in Coeur d’Alene leadership and does not represent the good people of our city.”
