District Representatives Join Coeur d’Alene Protest Against COVID Mandates — Promise to Fight for Medical Freedom

District #4 representatives Paul Amador and Jim Addis joined hundreds of Coeur d’Alene residents in protest against COVID-19 mandates before the legislature reconvenes on November 15. In the crowd were doctors, nurses, teachers, union workers, parents and hundreds of others who’re concerned over looming mandates and government restrictions.

One of the speakers, shouting over the sounds of cheers, encouraged the present representatives to carry out the will of the people “who all have spoken [against mandates] loud and clear.”

“I was fired from Kootenai medical for refusing to get the shot” one woman said, who asked to not be named for fear of further repercussions from her former employer. “There is a December deadline, and hundreds of medical workers will be fired for refusing the shot." she said.

A small group of masked protesters stood on the outside of the crowd, periodically mocking the speakers. When asked for comment on the state legislature restricting COVID mandates, Mary, sarcastically explained “I think in the spirit of freedom, which so many people here are talking about is, I will not be free to run my own business the way I want to run my own business.” Mary continued, saying “I should be able to require my employees to vaccinated, and these laws could restrict that".

Mary, who believes the state should not interfere with her business, believes that business owners should have the right to interfere with their employees medical decisions, such as whether or not they receive a vaccine.

While conservatives who are against vaccine mandates adopt the slogan “my body my choice.” liberals who are in support of vaccine mandates have adopted free market capitalism in hopes that the corporate world will do what the government can not — mandate vaccinations.
