DOUBLE STANDARD: Heavy Police Presence at Poorly Attended Kootenai Health Town Hall — Threats to Throw Citizens Out for Cheering/Clapping
The Kootenai Karens Are At It Again
On Thursday, December 8th, Kootenai Health and the Chamber of Commerce held an “information session” at the Best Western Hotel.
The meeting was called to inform the public of the change in structure at Kootenai Health that the Tribune first reported back in September, and go over the recently released whitepaper justifying this change.
The hotel was absolutely crawling with police.
Squad cars were lined up at the front of the hotel, ensuring that everyone who came to attend knew that if they dissent, there would be consequences.
Clint Schroeder, the publisher the CDA Press, started off the meeting with a warning.
Anyone speaking out of turn, groaning, cheering or disrupting the meeting would immediately be escorted out of the building.
Katie Brody, the chairman of the Kootenai Health Board of Trustees has relied on the Press in the recent past to create the narrative that local conservatives are “dangerous.” They cited this excuse in November when they refused to attend the Kootenai County Women Republican’s town hall on the same topic.
The event last Thursday was poorly attended, especially compared to the KCRWF Town Hall which boasted attendance in the hundreds.
Trustee Steve Matheson, the only trustee who is against the change of structure was relegated to the back of the room, instead of seated with the rest of the board, and their legal counsel.
For what it’s worth, Matheson was given a moment to share why he is against the transference of the Hospital District to a 501(c)3.
Meanwhile at the NIC Board of Trustees Meeting on Saturday that was disrupted by an angry liberal mob, the CDA Police had no presence at the meeting whatsoever, and allegedly refused to come to the assistance of Campus Security when the meeting started to get out of hand.
We can only assume that the Police did not want to be put in the embarrassing situation of having to escort the 3 CDA City Counselors, who were seated with the angry mob, out of the meeting.
Incidentally, all 3 of the City Counselors who participated in the disruption of the NIC board meeting are up for re-election next November.
Their names are Christie Wood, Dan Gookin, and Dan English.
