Giant Anti-Racist “Tower of Babel” to be Erected in Coeur d’Alene Friday Sep 23 — Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission at Odds With Community Once Again
The Arts Commission Strikes Again
The giant tower, titled “The Monument to Peace and Unity,” is coming to Coeur d’Alene this Friday, despite opposition from the community.
The Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission says the tower was created to welcome “all people” to Coeur dAlene, representing the city’s “commitment to eliminate racism and prejudice.”
This comes just one month after the Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission attempted to approve a Giant ‘Communist Fist’ for public display, only to be forced down by local residents.
Local residents have decried the tall structure claiming it “just doesn’t look nice,” and that it is “representative of the Tower of Babel.”
The story in the Bible depicts the construction of a large city and tower, designed and built for all people, only to be stuck down by God and its people scattered. In Genesis 11:1–9, God scattered the people into separate lands, giving them separate languages.
The below images were embedded within the Coeur d’Alene City Council packet on the 24 foot tower.
We are not sure who commissioned these strange computer generated images of the 24 foot structure.
The artist, Ai Qiu Hopen, is known for idolizing left-wing social justice icons. Her portfolio is full of statues of protestors and other liberal idols.
The 24 foot structure is set to be installed on Friday, September 23, at the Four Corners intersection of Northwest Boulevard, Government Way, and Fort Grounds Drive.
