Idaho Conservative Voter Guide: Which Idaho Library Board Candidates Are *Actually* Conservative? — Find Out About Library Elections Across The Gem State

If you want to make the Idaho’s libraries great again, you probably want to vote for these guys.

Updated May 12th at 7:45 pm adding Peggy Edwards to the list. She is running for the Madison County Library District.

Updated May 13th at 12:34 am adding Juliana Bollinger and Colton Bennett for Latah County Library Trustees.

People all across the state of Idaho are wondering which candidates for Library Board Trustee are Conservative, and which ones aren’t.

Idaho Libraries have a problem with pornography, as we have copiously documented over the past year, and something must be done about it.

The following candidates are the ones who have come recommended by other conservative groups around the state of Idaho. Make sure you vote on May 16th!

ADA County - Deborah Pogue & Reneé Trommler

Deborah and Reneé come recommended by the Idaho Liberty Dogs, and the Idaho Statesman doesn’t like them, so they must be over the target!

Boundary County - Mary-Esther Wilson & Lewis Clark

Bonner County - Stacey Rodriguez

Stacey also comes recommended by the Bonner County GOP.

Kootenai County - Tom Hanley & Tim Plass

We have extensively covered the race for the Community Library Network in Kootenai County. You can browse the articles by clicking here.

Tim and Tom also come highly recommended by the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee.

Madison County Library District - Peggy Edwards

There is almost no information about this election, and it wasn’t even on our radar until we received several emails recommending Peggy Edwards for Library Trustee.

In a statement on Peggy’s website, she says:

“My greatest concern is the availability of inappropriate sexual material available to children as well as the pervasiveness of Critical Race Theory and “wokeness”. I am shocked by the insidious Drag Queen Story Hours that are happening in public libraries around the country.”

Peggy also mentions that she wants “to make sure those who did not agree with the Covid measures would be represented.”

Compared to her opponent, she seems like the clear choice. The Idaho Tribune emphatically endorses Peggy’s bid for library trustee.

Kuna Library District - Teresa Haldorson

The following was taken from an Idaho Statesman article warning against so called “Book Banners.” Anyone who the Statesman is against, is likely good.

Haldorson was also endorsed by Conservatives of Idaho.

Latah County Library Trustee - Colton Bennett & Juliana Bollinger

From all the information that we can find, Colton Bennett definitely wants to deal with inappropriate, harmful materials in the library. He has also said that he wants to ensure that the library isn’t just a left-wing ideology factory. In a recent interview, Bennett said:

“These experiences have branded on my conscience the importance of having a free society, one that allows the free exchange of ideas. If elected I will work to promote an intellectually free library, free of propaganda and robust in truth.”

Letter to the editor about Colton Bennett.

Colton Bennett’s Website.

We have been unable to surface much relevant information about Juliana Bollinger, but according to Colton’s opponent, “If you want to ensure the library is inclusive and welcoming for everyone, support our local librarians and use resources wisely, please vote to reelect Saba Baig to the Latah County Library Board.“

The Latah County Republicans DON’T rate, vet, and recommend candidates like they do in Kootenai County. The Latah Democrats, however DO:

So with that said, the Idaho Tribune is recommending that you do the EXACT OPPOSITE. Juliana Bollinger is the conservative choice.

Meridian Library Trustee - David J. Tizekker & Xavier Torres

Each of these candidates come with good Conservative recommendations from Conservatives of Idaho and the Ada County GOP.

If there is anyone we missed, or if anyone has more info on these candidates, including pictures, websites, or other endorsements, please get in touch. Idaho is a big state to keep track of…
