Idaho Senator, James Risch, Blasted by President of El Salvador After Bitcoin Criticism — “OK boomers…You have 0 jurisdiction on a sovereign and independent nation”
Idaho Senator, James Risch, joined Democrats and other ranking members of senate to lambast El Salvador’s adoption of the cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, as legal tender in the state. El Salvador’s own currency has suffered extreme inflation, rendering its paper tender less valuable than toilet paper.
James Risch stated that “El Salvador’s adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender raises significant concerns about the economic stability and financial integrity of a vulnerable U.S. trading partner in Central America,” adding, “This new policy has the potential to weaken U.S. sanctions policy, empowering malign actors like China and organized criminal organizations. Our bipartisan legislation seeks greater clarity on El Salvador’s policy and requires the administration to mitigate potential risk to the U.S. financial system.”
James Risch has not only been meddling in the internal affairs of El Salvador, Risch has been a loudly promoting the situation in Ukraine, taking to Fox News saying “the consequences are going to be serious” for Russia if there is to be conflict between the states.
Idaho is a long way from El Salvador, and an even longer distance to Ukraine. The state of Idaho, and its conservative voters need strong leadership, willing to fight for us, rather than countries half way across the world.
