Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris BLASTS Legislation That Would Give Illegal Immigrants A “Restricted” Idaho Drivers License
We All Know Where This Is Going…
Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris Blasted new legislation that seeks to create “Restricted Drivers Licenses” for illegal aliens that reside in the state of Idaho. Norris said:
“Municipalities that accommodate people in the United States illegally have more illegal migration. Municipalities subsequently have an increased need for schools, social services, jails, and law enforcement. Rewarding illegal aliens with a ‘Restricted Driver’s License’ is essentially a tax on every Idahoan.”
The legislation, SB 1038 was introduced by “Republican” Senator Jim Guthrie (LD28). During testimony at Tuesday’s hearing, RINO Senator Guthrie said:
“Let’s face it Senators, Mr. Chairman: undocumented residents are in our society, they’re in our economy, our markets, and maybe most appropriate for today’s discussion: on our roads. […] So, if we can agree undocumented residents are part of the workforce, then we might need to consider the obvious; they need to travel to work school, church, open bank accounts, etc…”
Since when did Republicans refer to illegal aliens, that violated our sovereign borders as “undocumented residents?” Sounds like something a liberal in California might say…
Idaho law currently says that the Department of Motor Vehicles “shall not issue any driver's license, any instruction permit, privileges or right to drive and if issued, may revoke or cancel the driver's license of a person who … is not lawfully present in the United States."
The bill is being heavily backed by a left-wing group called PODER of Idaho, which exists “To support DACAmented and Undocumented people through actions and events.”
Most recently, PODER was involved in the race-baiting fake hate crime incident at Caldwell High School.
Idaho Conservatives have been fierce defenders of our national sovereignty, and advocates for border security, but according to groups like PODER of Idaho “THATS RAAAAAACISSSST!”
PODER of Idaho, is a radical left-wing group like Reclaim Idaho.
PODER wants to abolish the Police, “because they’re RACIST.”
They want to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement, effectively erasing America’s border.
The same people who support groups like PODER of Idaho, also support the war in Ukraine, because “We can’t let Russia violate the sacred borders of the Ukraine.”
This of course is all very amusing, but the fact remains that PODER and other groups like Reclaim Idaho want to change the state of Idaho, and make it more like California, Washington and Oregon,

“I am a retired police detective from the leftist state of Crappyfornia. Part of my duties was to verify the identities and the veracity of information from illegal aliens applying for driver licenses.”
“It is a fallacy that illegal alien restricted DLs will help identify these folks or incentivize them to be properly insured. We could never actually verify the information from these applicants. The best we could do was to verify that the document they provided was legit, but the information listed on the document could never be independently verified. So you will never know for sure if the applicant is really the person identified on the document.”
“Also, the argument that the illegals will buy insurance if they have a DL is nonsense. That is an economic decision and many will simply pay a down payment of $25 or so to receive their insurance card and then abandon the policy. There are many more negatives that will come from this leftist proposal and it is very disappointing that it was sponsored by Guthrie, but that just tells me that he is corrupted and in bed with the agricultural lobby.”

Many of the Idaho Tribune’s readers have fled from states like California, Oregon and Washington, and know that this legislation will do nothing to make Idaho’s roads a safer place to drive. Instead, this bill effectively rolls out the red carpet to illegal immigrants, and acts as an advertisement for them to come here.
Sheriff Norris concluded his letter saying:
“There are states that reward people for breaking the law, let’s not make Idaho one of them. The Sheriff, and many municipalities, have seen the trailer, the movie and the sequel to accommodating people who have already broken the law to be here, and the result is not good. The Sheriff does support Driver’s Licenses for people who are legal residents of this country. Encourage your legislator to vote no on S1081.”
