Nuanced Mainstream Media in Idaho “Just Reporting the Facts” Surrounding Abortion Debate — Do Semantics Shroud Opinion Under Thin veil of Journalism?
Just reporting the facts!
Idaho’s journalists have gone into overdrive interviewing ‘legal scholars,’ protestors and Democrat activists following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Not one of these reporters has given equal airtime to pro-life perspectives, views which overwhelmingly represent the position of the vast majority of Idaho.
In an effort to walk the thin lines of bipartisan legitimacy, journalists are generally not allowed to inject their own personal opinions into their reporting. Therefore, you will find that journalists, especially those in deep-red states, simply comment on and quote other progressive activists, politicians and “health care providers” — generally ignoring those who would be considered too conservative.
Journalism is a game of nuanced semantics where opinion is shrouded in facts, or, more accurately, facts are shrouded in opinion. There is always a thin line of separation between the two.
Journalists like to see themselves as clever, where their ideals are hidden behind a wall of technicalities, comfortably relaxing in the subtle shade of “just reporting the facts.”
Meanwhile, normal, every-day conservatives see through the bullshit (and it is complete bullshit) and call it like it is: a bunch of liberal bullshit.
So, here are the facts: When a woman becomes pregnant, a human child begins developing inside of her womb. At the moment of conception, a human life is born.
This human life will develop inside of the womb, and continue to develop after it has been born.
An abortion is the premeditated ending of a life. It is the literal killing of a human being. That is it. That is the fact of the matter, without any of the nuance or subtle word salad semantics.
Let us now explore the convoluted world of Idaho journalism surrounding the widely supported laws on abortion in one of the reddest states in the country.
Jake Garcia of Idaho News 6 wrote an entire article detailing Idaho Democrat lawmakers reactions, encouraging "Idahoans to vote” in reaction to the Supreme Court decision.
Jake then quote-tweets Vice President Kamala Harris’ opinions on Abortion legislation, because that is pressing news, of course, and Idahoans care about what Kamala Harris has to say about abortion, because Idaho voted for Kamala Harris.
We then have Shaun Goodwin of the Idaho Statesman, who penned an article highlighting Idaho’s “Fake clinics” which are *checks notes* not offering to kill babies.
The title of the piece is “Anti-abortion ‘fake clinics’ exist in Idaho. Here’s what they are and how to spot them” — the article goes on to say “A ‘fake clinic,’ also known as a crisis pregnancy center, is a clinic that advertises services similar to an abortion clinic, but with a different agenda.”
A “different agenda” from an abortion provider, such as Planned Parenthood. What is that “different agenda” you might ask? Well, it is not killing babies, of course.
We then have Alex Brizee of the Idaho Statesman.
Clark Corbin, of the Idaho Capitol Sun, posts an article from a fellow reporter, Kelsey Morris, “tackling” the info surrounding abortion in Idaho. The article gives airtime to Democrats, activists and Planned Parenthood, but fails to articulate pro-life perspectives accurately. Its just liberal word salad.
Clark Corbin posts numerous tweets dead-quoting pro-abortion individuals, but not one tweet simply quoting those from a pro-life perspective.
Just doing journalism!
In this clip, we see Morgan Romero, a triple-vaccinated liberal from Portland Oregon and San Diego, walking through possible exemptions to Idaho’s abortion laws, which are some of the strictest in the county.
Morgan Romero posted an article just yesterday calling abortion “reproductive health” — these semantics, while thought to be clever by the educated, are seen as nothing more than a frail attempt at appearing to remain neutral on a subject with zero room for nuance.
We then have Ryan Suppe with the Idaho Statesman, who writes an article about how women in Idaho who want to end the life of their pre-born child will need to travel “300 miles” to the nearest abortion provider.
These women will be traveling across state lines, spending exorbitant amounts of money to do so, because they want to end the life of a living child.
Audrey Dutton, of the Idaho Capitol Sun, has posted extensively on the subject of abortion, though never from the perspective of those who disagree with the barbaric practice.
Dutton posted a wordy article to her social media alluding to hypothetical “HIPPA” violations regarding Idaho’s strict abortion laws.
The below article literally shows people where the would need to drive if they wanted to get an abortion.
“Just reporting the facts!”
Here is a fact: At over 650,000 abortions in the United States annually, abortion is one of the leading causes of death in North America.
