Who Is Nick Swayne, And Why Do Liberals Love Him? Find Out How A Pro-Mask, Pro-Trans, DARPA-Funded Big-Government Nerd Hacked The Presidency of North Idaho College From The People
During the Summer of 2022, the Idaho State Board of Education appointed 3 un-elected, “state approved” trustees to North Idaho College’s Board of Trustees. These appointments came after one Conservative trustee named Michael Barnes, was blackmailed by liberals into resigning in 2021, and after liberal trustees, Christie Wood and Ken Howard resigned in 2022. Wood and Howard’s resignations were allegedly part of a plan hatched with the help of John Goedde to seize control at the college, and take away the power of the conservative majority on campus.
The insiders who hatched this plan had allegedly negotiated a deal with the State Board of Education (SBOE), who under Idaho Code, should have appointed only one trustee, which would have restored a quorum on the board, and allowed the college to get back to functioning. Instead, the SBOE used a vague interpretation of the law to appoint 3 trustees, who acted as a majority liberal/establishment-approved bloc: John Goedde, David Wold, and Pete Broschet.
These three un-elected trustees served alongside Todd Banducci and Greg McKenzie, the only trustees left on the board who were actually elected by the citizens of Kootenai County.
Many people in Kootenai county have shared their belief that the actions of that appointed board majority are illegitimate.
Legalities aside, does it make sense that an appointed board of trustees should be making permanent decisions for our local community college? We don’t think so.
It was this un-elected, appointed board of Commissars, that decided to make some radical changes in leadership at the college, hiring a Virginia resident named Nick Swayne to become the new, permanent president of North Idaho College for the Next 3 years.
Almost nothing was known about Nick Swayne prior to the board’s decision to hire him to become NIC’s new leader, and the very first time the community-at-large ever heard his name was in an article published on June 23, 2022 by CDA Press “reporter” Kaye Thornbrugh.
The article was comprised of two main sections. Section one was about Swayne’s background:
With hindsight, we now know that Ms. Thornbrugh’s description of Swayne came entirely from a press release, which eventually became his “biography” on the NIC website. It was a copy/paste job. No thinking required; like a television host who doesn’t have to think, “just read what it says on the teleprompter.”
There was no original reporting about who Swayne is, what his background was, and why he would be a good fit for North Idaho College, which is situated in an overwhelmingly conservative community.
The second part of the article was a pure political hit-job, designed to attack conservative trustees Banducci and McKenzie the elected trustees, who voted against Swayne’s hiring, but is it possible that they might have had a point?
The pair walked out of Swayne’s interview last week, though McKenzie later returned.
Banducci said Wednesday he was frustrated with the presidential search process and believes it has been rushed and “bastardized.”
“I have incredible contempt for this process,” he said.
Banducci did not attend two of the candidate interviews due to conflicting Air Force Reserves obligations and refused to finish a third interview.
McKenzie expressed concerns that trustees could not share confidential personnel information related to the search during the public meeting.
McKenzie was not allowed to speak publicly about the results from a presidential search committee who rated each candidate, because they claimed that would be “damaging” to the applicants. So, they weren’t allowed to share the results of those ratings publicly or even privately, not that it would have mattered, because the appointed board had their guy: Nick Swayne.
I bet you can guess who was rated the lowest by that search committee.
Swayne ran X-Labs at James Madison University, where a team of students at his direction “solved a real national security problem for DARPA and USSOCOM in the first undergraduate Hacking 4 Defense course in the nation.” The quote was attributed to Intelligence Analyst and current IBM employee Cassandra Hagstoz. She said “The solution will save people’s lives.”
Swayne also worked on the Virginia Drone Project which allowed a fleet of drones to 3D scan terrain with advanced imaging and LIDAR. This was his biography there:
And of course yet another bio from the 4-VA.com, private consortium between James Madison University, where Swayne’s “X-Labs” was based, and 7 other Virginia Universitites. A group Swayne served as Executive Director of between 2014-2021 when he moved to Idaho.
4-VA is an inter-college foundation that "shared resources" & gave out scholarships like: "Faculty Development Award to Promote Diversity in Neuroscience by the National Institutes of Health."
Swayne's job at 4-VA was to grow "the strategic partnership with state-level stakeholders at the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and the governors office."
SCHEV is all about Diversity Equity And Inclusion :)
They even have a whole "Diversity Framework" titled "Inclusive Excellence Framework 2020-2026 A Plan to Advance Excellence through Diversity Equity and Inclusion" which you can read at the link.
Funnily enough, something that is notably missing from Swayne’s old bio at NIC.edu is his time spent on the Harrisonburg Virginia School Board. When he stepped down as board chair at the school district, local media made no mention about Swayne’s Hacking For Democracy project, or his work with DARPA on Drone imaging and navigation.
His big claim to fame on the news? We kid you not: Swayne Created a Dance program at the school district.
I wonder what kind of “Dancing” he had these kids doing? Swayne didn’t talk about it in the segment aired by WHSV-TV.
His work at JMU X-Labs was fairly minimized, and nothing was mentioned of all the critical things he did with the State Council of Higher Education of Virginia "growing the partnership" with the governor.
Now, there’s probably a reason for that. His Hacking for Democracy, Hacking for Defense, Hacking for Diplomacy and Virginia Drones Project was all subsidized and paid for by DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. The agency is known for projects like “Life Log,” a government program that sought real time location, psychological data, and other sets of data which could be used for “intelligence” or “counter terrorism.” DARPA’s Life Log project ended the day Facebook launched.
DARPA has funded many recent programs revolving around surveillance, vaccination data, and covid lockdowns.
During the Twitter Files releases from Matt Taibbi, we learned that DARPA Played a BIG part in funding not only the Covid response measures, but perhaps even the Gain of Function research that led to that strain of coronavirus being developed in the first place.
“In recent years, DARPA officials have contracted out core functions to corporations.” Kind of like a public/private partnership right?
In an article on Meritalk.com titled Pentagon Turns to College Hackers for Battlefield Tech by Morgan Lynch on Feb 24, 2017, it says “James Madison University students are working with the Hacking for Defense (H4D) program, funded by the Department of Defense, in order to build the technologies that the military needs in current situations.” The article says:
Cassandra Hagstoz, a sophomore computer information systems major, is working with the Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment to help them gain situational awareness of unknown areas.
“Everything is also a lot more ‘hush-hush’ than you would think. A lot of people in these agencies are skeptical to talk with us until you provide proof that you’re really in conjunction with your sponsors.”
When the Rangers come across a cave, they need to know before they can go inside how many people are in the cave, its depth and layout, and if there are any improvised explosive devices or other threats. Hagstoz’s team is considering the use of specialized drones to tackle this problem. The drones would be equipped with 3-D mapping technology, GPS locators, or a Wi-Fi connection.
“The drone would be programmed to fly into the cave with either a swarm of drones equipped with hot spots or programmed to drop ‘bread-crumb’ connectors in order to keep connection with the Rangers,” Hagstoz said. “Once inside, the drone would use the thermal sensors and 3-D mapping to send real-time data back to a tablet or device.”
The article stated the goals for that program were to help the government develop equipment they needed to fight the war in Afghanistan, in order to help scan the insides
• Developing a mobile app that would allow Federal, state, and local government entities to share information in the event of a natural disaster.
• Creating a technology that can destroy or disrupt small unmanned aircraft.
• Establishing a way for military units to visualize all aspects of a battlefield including physical, cyber, geospatial, electromagnetic, and social.
• And building a system that can identify enemy drones.

“They met with one of our deans and decided we were putting enough horsepower behind it to make it work for undergraduates,” said Nick Swayne, faculty coordinator of the Hacking for Defense program at JMU.
So, to reiterate: Nick Swayne, a military man with a background in political science, used his company X-Labs to work with the Military Industrial Complex to develop military technology used for spying, surveillance, and other draconian Covid-19 measures, and at the same time he was serving as Chair of his local school district, where he created “a dance program.” Is any of this adding up?
I wonder how his Harrisonburg school district turned out after taking over $9 Million in ARPA funds back in 2021.
Then, Governor Glenn Youngkin issued "guidance reinstating bathroom and locker room restrictions and curbing pronoun changes" to get rid of the woke trans indoctrination in our schools. What did swayne’s school do?
They did the Socially Just, Morally Equitable thing - They Protested!
Why were they protesting? Because they had already been implemented, and the school had faced lawsuits from parents who didn’t want their kids infected with this Trans Programming.
Under Swayne's leadership, his school became the kind of place where “students” stage a walkout in defiance of their newly elected conservative governor @GlennYoungkin.
As trustee, Swayne bragged that his school district was one of the most Diverse in the country
As a matter of fact, Nick Swane (He/Him) is 100% committed to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion movement, saying on his LinkedIn page:
“Using the lens of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion to solve real-world problems. Proud member of the UVA/Sorensen Leadership Fellow 2022 cohort, Stanford Faculty Innovation Fellow, Stanford University Innovation Fellow mentor, and Real Industry. Focused on student outcomes and the fundraising necessary to sustain distinctive programs.”
So here's the question: What did Swayne do to become "so beloved by the community" here in North Idaho?
He has implemented Transgender Bathroom Policies, Mask Mandates, espouses the woke Diversity, Equity and Inclusion stuff, and works with Governors to "grow partnerships" between higher ED and the State, while simultaneously developing programs to produce surveillance technology for the military.
As of writing, Swayne was still listed as faculty at James Madison University with the Hacking for Defense DARPA-funded project, where he’s listed as a faculty coordinator.
Who is he working for? North Idaho College - or the Covid-19 Enforcing, Diversity Spreading, Transgender-Affirming, Woke Military Industrial Complex?
Do you get it?
Swayne is one of them.
The conservative North Idaho College trustees fired their woke College President Rick MacLennan in 2021 after he unilaterally instituted a mask mandate on campus, and the NIC DEEP STATE found this guy to replace him.
This guy doesn’t know the first thing about dealing with College Accreditation issues, but he’s the Establishment’s man.
But how did the Idaho Deep State find out about Swayne? According to the MeriTalk article we quoted earlier, Pentagon Turns to College Hackers for Battlefield Tech, “The other schools participating include the University of California-San Diego, Georgetown University, Stanford University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Boise State University.”
He was introduced to people at Boise State University through the Government’s experimental weapons research program DARPA. That program is what sent Nick Swayne into North Idaho’s orbit.
Doesn’t that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside?
Things get even more bizarre with his wife, Nicky Swayne, who according to LinkedIn was the General Manager Valley Guard Supply, a Covid 19 Supplies company that CASHED IN on selling masks to institutions through government contracts.
During the previous decade Nicky Swayne does not have any employment information listed, other than becoming a member of Rotary International in 2019.
She just happened to pop up with a medical supplies company just 3 months before word of the Coronavirus began spreading in China. What a lucky woman.
Her husband, the President of North Idaho College, Nick Swayne (He/Him) was also making money off selling masks with Valley Guard Supply, because he served as their Director of Innovation.
Now, Nicky Swayne’s LinkedIn page lists her as Chief Executive Officer of the Shenandoah Valley Technology Council.
However at the time of writing this article, her name is not listed on the website. Instead her husband is listed as a current board member.
I wonder if anyone has pulled publicly available financial information on this irregularity? After all, wouldn’t we want to make sure taxpayer funds aren’t being mis-appropriated, wasted, or laundered?
It’s not like Governments would ever make front companies for their spy agencies, and then do illegal things with spyware and money. That just doesn’t happen.
The Idaho Tribune is also 100% completely sure that the cyber-attack on North Idaho College just before last November’s election was completely unrelated to any of this, and purely a coincidence.
