EXCLUSIVE: New Attorney General Raul Labrador Moves To Drop Charges Against Idaho Mom, Sara Brady, Who Was Arrested For Violating Gov. Little’s Covid Mandates

Promises Made, Promises Kept!

Idaho’s new Attorney General, Raúl Labrador is starting off strong, announcing today that his office has moved to dismiss all charges against “Idaho Park Mom,” Sara Brady.

Brady was arrested in 2020 for taking her children to play in the park during Idaho governor Brad Little’s COVID lockdown mandates. Over two years later, she has accrued over $30,000 in legal fees.

A statement released today by the Attorney General’s office says:

This decision was prompted by a unanimous recommendation from prosecutors assigned to the case. General Labrador's decision was motivated by several factors:

First, there are no allegations that Ms. Brady injured any person or property, or that she physically resisted officers.

Second, the evidence, itself, makes it far from certain that any reasonable jury would convict her.

And third, the State has already expended far more resources than is typical of misdemeanor cases.

Attorney General Labrador said in a statement:

"We know Idahoans have been dealing with significant government overreach. This case should have never been prosecuted. It has been a profound waste of precious taxpayer resources. Going forward, we will focus the people's resources on prosecuting child exploiters and other serious criminals-not mothers who take their kids to the park."

Speaking exclusively with the Idaho Tribune, Sara Brady said:

“I’m so happy and relieved Idaho Attorney Raul Labrador is dropping my case. The emotional toll this has taken on myself and family is something that no one should have to go through for taking their kids to a playground.

I’m thankful a leader has finally done the right thing. What has happened to me and many others in the last 2 years really shows the true colors of the leaders in our nation and in this case the State of Idaho.

Brady continued, saying “I could not have done this without my many supporters. The true win for me today is knowing that by holding out for almost 3 years, and defending my innocence, has finally paid off.”

Over the past two years, Brady has repeatedly asked Governor Little for a pardon, reaching out through several different avenues, but her pleas for help fell on deaf ears.

“I don’t pardon people,” said Governor Little at a campaign stop in October 2020, when confronted by conservative activists demanding relief for the persecuted mother.

Contrary to the Governors claims on the campaign trail, Little does in fact have the power to pardon people.

In 2019 Brad Little made headlines after he pardoned two people who were convicted with Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

According to Idaho Code 20-1016, the governor’s pardoning power is limited, excluding offenses “which the maximum punishment allowed by law at the time of sentencing is death or life imprisonment.”

Since Sara Brady’s “offense” was a mere misdemeanor, the Governor could have intervened in her case at any time. At the very least, Little could have directed former AG Larry Wasden to dismiss the charges, but the Governor turned a blind eye to the plight of this persecuted conservative mother.

Conservatives across the state are deeply thankful to Attorney General Labrador for the actions he took today, and for the first time in a long time are hopeful about the future of the Gem State.

“Finally, Idaho has some REAL Conservative leadership!”
