Fed Vaccine Policy Threatens Idaho Businesses with $13,000 Fine Per Violation — Some Businesses Forced to Comply
“We are running out of options.”
Starting December 4th, unvaccinated employees working in Idaho will either take the vaccine or be subjected to wearing a mask at work — weekly COVID testing. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has announced a new Emergency Temporary Standard that they claim will “protect more than 84 million workers from the spread of the coronavirus on the job,” threatening employers with $13,000 per violation.
Super 1 Foods in Idaho is incentivizing employees who can prove they have been inoculated with the COVID-19 shot. The local grocery chain is offering an extra $1.00 to hourly employees who produce written proof of vaccination.
We reached out to Super 1 Foods in Coeur d’Alene where the manager did confirm the grocery chain is “incentivizing” employees to take the vaccine.
Some employers feel as though they have no choice but to comply, resorting to incentive programs to help convince employees to receive the vaccine. We reached out to an employee of Super 1 Foods who said “I feel like i have no choice. I have to either get vaccinated, or wear a mask and pay for weekly testing that costs a lot and if I quit, like many others are saying they might, that is also not good for my boss who doesn’t seem to like this.”
The unfortunate reality is that many of these companies do not care for or want to comply with COVID regulations coming out of Washington D.C. — they are forced to make a choice between complying or going out of business.
The December 4th deadline looms over countless businesses who are stuck between an overreaching Federal government and employees who will not comply, regardless of the situation.
