Idaho Republicans & Democrats Argue Over Which Party Has to Keep Shelby Rognstad — No One Seems to Want Him!
“I’ve served as a non-partisan Mayor for two terms, let me be clear, I am a Democrat.”
A self-proclaimed Democrat running for Idaho governor, Shelby Rognstad, has failed to make it on the ballot after having been previously registered as a Republican. Now, the Sandpoint mayor has concocted a gubernatorial conspiracy theory wherein Republicans have allegedly schemed to keep him off the ballot.
Meanwhile, both Democrats and Republicans are arguing online as to which party has to keep Shelby Rognstad.
It appears that neither Democrats nor Republicans want Shelby Rognstad in their party after the shape-shifting politician embarrassed the state.
Rognstad, while speaking with the Idaho Capital Sun, conflated the political blunder to Republican conspiracy, saying “Today, a Republican Secretary of State worked with a Republican attorney general to illegally prevent a Democrat candidate from running for governor,..”
Rognstad alleges he attempted to change his party affiliation months prior to filing to run for governor, though, no record of this seems to exist.
Rognstad’s antics even appear to be pushing Democrats into drinking.
The crazy story of an Idaho Democrat politician who registered as a Republican, and then failed to re-register as a Democrat before filing to run for governor continues. What will happen next?
