Allegations of Indecent Exposure Not Supported by Evidence — Coeur d’Alene Attorney Declines Prosecution
In a statement released by Coeur d’Alene city attorney, Wes Somerton, it was revealed that after reviewing unedited video of Coeur d’Alene’s ‘Pride in the Park’ event, allegations of indecent exposure in front of minors are unfounded.
“The City of Coeur d Alene Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has received and reviewed the incident reports of an alleged Indecent Exposure incident at the PRIDE in the Park event on June 11, 2022. During the drag queen performance, it is alleged that a specific dancer exposed their genitals to the audience. This office reviewed both the unedited video recording of the incident, and an edited video recording that has been widely circulated on various social media platforms. Additionally, a longer version of the content was provided to our office for review.”
This comes after the circulation of a heavily edited video posted online stirred outrage as it was reported to blur out the genitals of a ‘drag performer’ who allegedly exposed himself to minors.
The video was originally posted by The Bushnell Report on Facebook.
Parents in Coeur d’Alene continue to voice their concerns over the contentious LGBT event which hosted drag performers who danced in front of children. One mother spoke to Mayor Jim Hammond, as well as city council, and asked for a formal apology for the events that took place on June 11.
